With so many weddings being significantly downsized this year we wanted to showcase a slice of the Canadian Rocky Mountains that is often missed out on! Kananaskis is slightly southeast of Banff National Park with one of the most unique lakes in the area with sand surrounding the water edge. To celebrate love during such a tough season we opted for an incredibly bright colour palette full of the happiest colours like coral, raspberry and peach. We brought in a modern touch with ghost chairs and clear acrylic pillars that allowed the beautiful lake views to shine through in the ceremony styling. My vision for the day was to create a feeling of a destination elopement in our own backyard of the Rocky Mountains. To support local, Banff Wedding Florist, Flowers By Janie sourced all the vibrant blooms from local flower farms and even used a few from her own home garden! A wedding doesn’t always have to be a ballroom full of guests, sometimes it’s just the two of you with a couple loved ones in a wildly stunning location. Our real couple had postponed their wedding with their original date 3 days prior to the shoot and celebrating their love for each other was the perfect way to spend our first styled shoot of the year. Our advice for bride’s during these uncertain times is do what feels right for you! If that means downsizing and celebrating with a few of your nearest and dearest, chat with your vendors and let’s make that magic happen for you both!
As always we could not have created such a beautiful inspiration shoot without the hard work and creative talents of our vendor team. Make sure you take a peek at them below!
