Wedding Planning Tips: Polaroid Guest Book Must Haves

May 31, 2021

We absolutely adore polaroid or photobooth style guestbooks, it is a great way to encourage your guests to leave a personal message to you and leave you a memory to look back to! Plus, guests just love taking their polaroid photo! In our years of styling guestbook tables there are a few tips and tricks to keeping the polaroid guest book organized and easy for your guests to use.

ONE.

Invest in a guestbook designed for Instax polaroids. There are some gorgeous customizable options on Etsy with pockets built into each page that fit the mini polaroid film perfectly or glue dots ready to use, along with spots for your guest’s note. This helps to avoid the clutter of having a glue dot dispenser on the table and encourages consistency between the pages of the book! Use corner stickers to create your own pockets for the film in a guestbook of your choice as an alternative.

TWO.

Purchase high quality pens! If you have selected a book with black pages, make sure you have metallic pens available (the finer the tip, the better!). If you have white pages, we recommend the Sharpie pens or Micron pens! They dry quickly and don’t bleed through to the other side.

THREE.

Have a basket to keep the film in ready to replace and ensure you have a small waste basket nearby for empty film cartridges and other little bits that can clutter the table!

FOUR.

Purchase extra film! Guests often take two photos leaving one in the guestbook and keeping one to take home. Have your planner or coordinator open film boxes as needed, you can always return any unopened film!

FIVE.

Signage! We always recommend having a small sign to guide your guests in the best way to sign your guest book. Ask your stationer to add it to your order, or find a printable template off Etsy to place in a frame or a cute acrylic sign like the one below!

Planning Tips

  1. Darby O'Brien says:

Pros vs cons of using instax mini or the instax wide?

    • Moments By Madeleine says:

The mini tends to be close to half the price of the wide camera! We have had a few couples use their wide, but they’ve owned it previously! The mini film fits nicely into the smaller size guest books also!

  2. Stacy says:

Hello, this is a great idea and I am planning on doing it at my wedding. We are expecting 80 guests, How many cameras would you recommend buying?

    • Moments By Madeleine says:

Hi Stacy! I would recommend 2 cameras with 8-12 packs of film (each box has 2 packs of film)!

  3. Way cool! Some extremely valid points! I appreciate you penning this post plus the rest of the site is also very good.

  4. Araceli Morales says:

Hi love the idea. Showed it to my niece and fiancé definitely using the idea for their wedding.. thank you for the tips.. I will follow them to the do..

  5. I’m extremely inspired together with your writing talents as well
as with the layout for your blog. Is this a paid theme
or did you modify it your self? Either way keep up the excellent high quality writing, it’s rare to look
a great blog like this one nowadays..

  6. Bonuses says:

I’ve been surfing online more than three hours today, yet I never
found any interesting article like yours.
It’s pretty worth enough for me. In my opinion, if
all webmasters and bloggers made good content as you did, the internet
will be much more useful than ever before.
