J + C had always wanted a very intimate wedding day. When she first reached out to me after C proposed she told me of her future in laws beautiful property in Water Valley, Alberta where they would say their vows as the sun tucked behind the mountains to the west. We discussed the perfect timeline too catch golden hour as they said I do, set weather back ups (hello it is Alberta!) and started dreaming of their perfectly personalized wedding design. The day would be the perfect mix of rustic and elegant tying together the natural elements of the harvest wood tables with beautiful blush linens and mauve and ivory blooms.
Every detail of their day spilled over with intention, from the bride wearing her mother’s dress to the locket attached to the bouquet from her late brother to celebrating their love on family land. They wrote love letters to each other and read them privately before their first look in the beautiful field behind the groom’s sister’s farmhouse. The ceremony ended as the sun turned that perfect sunset pink making for some of the most beautiful first kiss photos I’ve ever seen. Both the bride and groom’s father’s signed the marriage registry before a champagne toast was made to the newlyweds. The night ended with an intimate long table dinner under the stars sipping on homemade wine from the new Mr & Mrs.
This wedding was especially special for me to design & plan, the bride and I have known each other for many years. From wine nights, to hearing about C coming into her life for the first time, and then to be there to see them step into their next chapter as husband and wife. We love you guys!
We could not have created such a beautiful day without such an amazing vendor team.
