Hi, I'm MADELEINE.

Romantic Banff Elopement at Tunnel Mountain

Mar 23, 2021

By the end of March 2020, we began to reach out to our spring and summer couples with news that no one in the wedding industry was ready to deliver. “COVID19 might affect what your wedding day will looks like.” For some this meant postponing both the ceremony and the party, for others it meant decreasing the guest list drastically but after a few late night phone calls with C + M, we knew that moving forward with their ceremony on their original date of 06.06.2020 was on their hearts. The date itself is incredibly special to them, and saying their vows to each other on that date was an absolute must. I asked C what she wanted the day to look like, what she envisioned, and her response was mountain views and beautiful florals as the backdrop for their commitment to each other on June 6th. Alongside their original photographer, florist and officiant we created a vision and plan for the day. I wanted to ensure not only a beautiful and intimate space for the two of them to say their vows but also a safe space in an ever-changing event world!

After a few panics around a week of horrible rainy weather we arrived at Tunnel Mountain Reservoir with the sky free of rain (and hail!) and a clear view of the Rockies behind us. It was absolutely perfect. Banff Wedding Florist, Flowers By Janie, created a grounded floral arch filled with peonies, delphinium, anemone and garden roses. Urban Officiant lead them through the most intimate ceremony with their two witnesses standing by. Banff Wedding Photographer, Kristyn Harder Photography captured every moment from their vows to an adventure along the edge of Lake Minnewanka. And of course a hand sanitizer station a the ready for the signing of the marriage license, very 2020! It wasn’t the wedding day they had planned for the past year, the one with the centrepieces we were so excited for, with their 200 favourite people, with the party that goes till 1am but it was everything they needed. They are husband and wife, the party can wait but their marriage couldn’t!

As always a huge thank you to the vendor team that made this Banff elopement possible!
