Hi, I'm MADELEINE.

Romantic Micro Wedding at Fairmont Palliser

Jun 16, 2021

A+A originally had booked their Calgary wedding at Fairmont Palliser for May 2020, and when the pandemic hit we had to work quickly to adjust their wedding plans! We started to replan for November 2020 and they had the most intimate church ceremony with their reception in the new Oak Room at the Fairmont Palliser Hotel. Even with restrictions changing one week before their wedding, they knew they couldn’t wait any longer to get married. With some creativity, a few more public health guidelines and a very flexible bride and groom they wed on a perfect winter day in Calgary. Follow along to indulge in some winter inspired micro wedding inspiration.

Our bride wanted a very timeless and elegant design to their wedding with a soft palette of white, champagne, blush and touches of gold. Calgary Wedding Florist, Flowers By Janie, added anemones into the floral design for a bit of a winter touch but we overall stuck with the neutral tones of white, ivory and pink! The beautiful cake designed by the pastry chef at the Fairmont Palliser Hotel created gorgeous sugar roses as an ode to the floral design. Calgary Wedding Photographer Heidrich Photography captured every moment of their day in the most luxurious way. With the increased public health restrictions put in place the week before their wedding, we had to get quite creative with certain aspects of their reception. We had received approval for a structured seated event, however this meant that their guests would need to be seated the entirety of the wedding reception. Rather than a three course dinner we opted for six courses to allow for a slower dinner with wedding games in between courses like “the shoe game” and “name that tune” presented by Calgary Wedding DJ Pez Productions. With the restrictions in place, we were also unable to have more than fifteen guests in total in the ballroom during the formal dances and cake cutting. The amazing Calgary Wedding Videographer Castano Films not only filmed the events before we invited the guests into the reception space, but worked tirelessly during dinner service to produce a short highlight of the day including the first dance, parent dances and cake cutting to showcase to the guests at the end of the evening. It was an amazing way to include all the guest in such traditional elements to the day!

As always the biggest thank you to the entire vendor team for being so incredibly flexible with the ever changing restrictions (including the week before the wedding!) We adore each of you!

  1. Awesome wedding, and great photography too. As a wedding service provider, I personally love micro weddings. They are intimate and just as magical as grand ones.
